If you haven’t joined a Bootcamp that is held outside, you should! It is a very different scenario than a Boot Camp you would participate at an indoor location or a gym. First of all there is a lot of space which means you can do interesting things with the Boot Camp such as Cone Drills, BootCamp Games and Hill exercises. These are activities and exercises that are more difficult and well just plain impossible in an indoor BootCamp.

Challenging Workouts

I have to hand it to my clients. Even though the workout was “challenging” ok hard, they gave it their all and did really well, although they were ready to be done after the session was over! Most of the people in my Kitchener Boot Camp are younger between the ages of 25 and 40 and the rumour that Millennials and Gen Z are lazy is completely untrue.

Fat Loss

One of my clients who is a little older was very happy that her leggings kept falling down, which means one thing! Fat loss! There’s this myth that if you’re older and in menopause or past it, you can’t lose weight due to metabolic slow down but this is simply not true. In Outdoor Boot Camp this can happen sooner than an  indoor Bootcamp just because you have access to hills  plus you really do burn more calories outside due to oxygen consumption and balanced C02 levels. You also have wind which acts as resistance and uneven terrain.

Boot Camp Exercises

So what do we do exactly? Well first there is a short warm up. I mean really short-two exercises. Since my Kitchener Boot Camp is shorter(more condensed than other BootCamps) I like to get to the actual workout fairly quickly. Everything is done fairly quickly from the duration of each exercise and tempo to the rest periods. In fact there are no rest periods, just active rest. This just means that the exercise is more of a strengthening exercise and is designed so that your heart rate slows a little and you can catch your breath at the same time. So after our warm up I have the Bootcampers do 10 HIIT exercises.

Hills

After the main exercises we do some hill running. There is a huge hill there so I have everyone run up it and down twice. Then we move on to Cone Drills which involves running in between the cones and then also some jumping back and forth between them. We do each of the drills twice. After that we move onto a different hill that is a bit smaller and do some running plus exercises at the top and bottom of the hill. Then we’re done. It’s that fast and everyone is ready to stretch.

In Conclusion

Keep in mind that this is just one example of a workout that I design. Every session is completely different. If you want more information, you can go to my Faq page as well as the main boot camp information page. Hit the button below.
