does sweating cause weight loss

The answer is a resounding NO! But I feel the need to discuss this a little because last weekend I was at the beach with my daughter  minding my own business. Ya know enjoying the cool water and the sun and of course working on my tan!

Anyway here I am minding my own bees wax when I overhear a girl( woman)in her I’d say twenties talking about the fact that and I quote “sweating will make you lose weight”. She was speaking as though she was an expert and I pray to God that she was not a personal trainer or involved in the fitness and health field at any capacity. I really do hope she hasn’t convinced anyone that this is true, because it’s not.

Yet so many people believe this and the reason they believe this is because they do lose pounds after sweating profusely either on purpose or otherwise. The reason being is they have lost WATER not actual weight. They will be up the next day or later that night as soon as they become hydrated once again.

The ONLY thing that will cause ANYONE to lose weight is a decrease of daily calories either through eating less or exercise as in burning calories or both ideally. Really it is still calories in calories out or decrease in calories. Game over. This is not some mystical thing and it is the SAME for everyone!

You can argue this til the cows come home but this is the case. It takes effort and time . Period. You need to put in effort. You need to exercise more and eat less.

Thanks for reading. Please don’t forget what I said. And if you have any questions please comment or send email. I ALWAYS email back as soon as I can.

Have a great day everyone!
