Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

Beach or mountains? Which do I prefer? That is a loaded question. I have lived near the mountains and they certainly have their pluses. These including fresh air, and open spaces. The mountains are majestic, that can’t be refuted. When I did live near the mountains though, I also had to succumb to colder than colder temperatures. This where the beach comes in! The beach? It’s usually significantly warmer than being in the mountains!

Why I Love The Mountains

I loved living near the mountains. When I say near I mean about an hour out. This was in Alberta, Canada. And Alberta has the Rocky Mountains and thus are so beautiful and once you get to the top of one of them, it is quite literally a spiritual experience. It’s breathtaking. The mountains also have the best ski hills! If you like skiing then the mountains are for you! I also hiked a lot in the mountains and the foothills. The best hiking by far!

Why I Love The Beach

I visited the ocean and the sea for the first time last year in November when I went to Australia and Italy. Italy has the Mediterranean Sea and Australia has the Indian Ocean. It was so beautiful, especially Australia. If you haven’t been I suggest going!! The beach has its pluses and minuses as well. Minus being that you might get burned by the sun. Especially in Australia! The sun is completely different than anywhere I have been previously. You definitely need to lather on the sunscreen! But it is peaceful and when the ocean waves hit, it is the greatest sound and feeling. If you have been, you know what I mean.

So you see, I love both the mountains and the beach but I am choosing to live near the beach in my later years, as it brings me so much happiness. I can’t wait to move to Australia!
